Lovely High School
"JOEY, jom, washroom! "
"WAKE UP, teacher's approaching! "
"I'm starving, what should we eat later? Nasi Lemak? Chicken Rice? Chee Cheong Fun? "
"Which subject we'll have for next class? "
"GREAT NEWS! Miss Phua is not coming today!"
Guess What ? Unforgettable, the typical conversations we'd have during high school life. There are things in our life that might not be easy to forget, a triumphant match, the first kiss from our love, a school reunion, and the first time we are wronged by our teacher or parents, a time we have to choose between our consciences and our desires, and so on. For me, those things around me, I'll never forget them but my ,most memorable experiences are the moments behind my high school life, teenager life.
2013. First year in high school.
New school, 5 thousand of new schoolmates, getting short hair cut as this is the rule of our school. Exciting with a tint of afraid are the feelings of my first day of school. This is a brand ... This is a brand new experience of my life having to leave my friends and teachers in primary school behind. Before the school end holidays ended, we had a two-day briefing for new students in order to get us familiar with the environment. I still remember that we were told not to leave our books in the drawer to prevent them from being stole or confiscated. On the first week of school, my drawer is still clean and radiant in the fluorescent.
Undoubtedly, canteen is my favorite place in my school, which we have a variety of good food that students of other high school would be jealous of. Chicken rice stall, Malay's food stall, vegetarian stall, noodle stalls, beverages stall, Chee Cheong Fun stall etc. As junior middle 1 student, we were given a 5-minute earlier break before recess time, which we would not have to suffer in the long queue.
Sports day is held every 4years back in my high school, luckily I get to participate in the first year, which was held at the Stadium Bukit Jalil. As a member in the green house, i took part in the 400m and 1000m race. I didnt make it to the final ,yet, I did not give up halfway.
2014. No longer a freshman.
No more earlier break before recess. We had to suffer. The crowd in canteen is definitely unbearable. My friends and I would always rush to the canteen and go the stall with short queue, which is the chicken rice stall, nice and cheap, RM3 as always:)
As a volleyball school team, I managed to fight for our school in each competition ,and had always been proud of teamwork and the spirit we have to fight till the end. Though oftentimes the training are exhausting and killing, when we managed to make it to the top, all the pains would have melted away.
2015. Stressful year.
Due to my tiny height, I had no choice but was arranged to be sitting in the front row since the first day of the year. And sometimes teacher's mouth would unknowingly split out tiny drop of saliva on me, maybe that's why I managed to get 6As for UEC HAHAHA (We had 7 subjects while the only C subject I got was History) . In my school ,students sit for both Junior Unified Examination Certificate (JUEC) and Pentaksiran Tingkatan Tiga (PT3) in final year of junior middle.
Graduated from junior middle, we had a graduate trip as well. Unleashing stress and enjoy the moment ! It was a 3days2night trip in Pangkor Island and Ipoh, one of the popular island of peninsular Malaysia. With my great friends who went through ups and downs together, and have fun together!
2016. Honey Moon Year.
"Honey Moon Year" is what we called for the year of Senior middle 1. I've been longing for this year to come as it's the year in between the stressful SUEC and SPM year.
This year, our school came out with a huge plan which was to build up a 9-floor building by the year of 100th anniversary (2020). There will be a cafeteria, parking lots for teachers , lecture hall, indoor courts for basketball etc. All of us had to raise funds up to RM300. On behalf of the future students here, we made it and the building has started its progress.
2017 Last Year before leaving.
Finally another sports day in school. Nevertheless, I made up my mind to be taking pictures around as a member photograhy club instead of taking part in any of the races. Not like the other audiece, i was allowed to walk around to take photographs. The scene was majestic, every student was full of youthful energy and the athletes were huffing and puffing after each race. Having an opportunity to take photographs around the stadium on sports day was indeed an awesome experience !
As SPM approached, I began to feel some sense of panic. I study hard as I aimed to get straight As. Through out the journey, my teachers had been inspriring us, admonishing us, motivating us, I really thankful with all the efforts they had made. Even though I didnt manage to get straight As, I did cried as the result disappoints me. My friends hugged me tighly, my mom told me sometimes it was just a bottom line of luck, I knew I had tried my best.
5 years of memories. Here in Chong Hwa Independent High School. Without a graduate certificate, leaving a place of my comfort and go into the wilderness of my intuition . Bye, my lovely high school.
